Welcome to LowerYourGaze (the “App”), operated by Lower Your Gaze LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Lower Your Gaze LLC.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account and use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under 16, we will promptly delete that information and terminate the associated account.

3. Account Registration and Security

To use the App, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Providing accurate and up-to-date information.
• Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Permitted Use

The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use to support your recovery journey. You may not:

• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its systems.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality or servers.
• Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others.

5. Community Guidelines

The App may include community features such as posts and comments. When using these features, you agree to:

• Be respectful and supportive of other users.
• Not post obscene, offensive, threatening, hateful, or sexually explicit content.
• Not share personal information about other users.
• Not post spam, advertisements, or promotional material.
• Not impersonate another person or entity.
• Not post content that encourages self-harm or harmful behavior.
• Not share graphic descriptions of addictive behaviors or triggering content.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines and to suspend or terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly violate them.

6. Content Reporting and Moderation

You may report community posts or comments that violate our guidelines. We review reported content and take appropriate action, which may include content removal or account suspension. We are not obligated to monitor all user-generated content but reserve the right to do so.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App — including but not limited to text, graphics, icons, images, audio, software, and the overall design — are owned by or licensed to Lower Your Gaze LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.

8. User-Generated Content

By posting content in the App’s community features, you:

• Retain ownership of your content.
• Grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display and distribute your content within the App for the purpose of operating the community features.
• Represent that your content does not infringe the rights of any third party.

You may delete your own content at any time. When you delete your account, all of your community content is permanently removed.

9. Important Disclaimers

9.1 Not Medical or Professional Advice

The App is a self-help tool designed to support your personal recovery journey. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, or counseling. The content provided in the App, including articles, supplications, breathing exercises, and reflection prompts, is for informational and self-improvement purposes only.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or medical emergency, please contact a qualified healthcare provider or emergency services immediately.

9.2 Religious Content

The App includes Islamic supplications, references, and spiritual guidance as part of its recovery support features. This content is provided for informational and motivational purposes and should not be treated as a religious ruling or substitute for consulting with qualified religious scholars.

9.3 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee specific outcomes or results from using the App. Recovery is a personal process, and the App is designed to support — not replace — your own commitment and any professional help you may seek.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lower Your Gaze LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the App, regardless of the theory of liability.

In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the amount you have paid us, if any, in the twelve (12) months prior to the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lower Your Gaze LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

13. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings screen. Upon deletion, all personal data, recovery data, and community content associated with your account will be permanently removed.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or for any other reason at our discretion. We will attempt to provide notice when possible, but reserve the right to act immediately when necessary to protect the App, its users, or our rights.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lower Your Gaze LLC regarding your use of the App, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
